Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari OVA Ep. 11 Review
異世界の聖機師物語 OAV Episode 11 (Blu-ray version)
War on Geminar – 11
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
Kenshi learns that being king isn’t all fun when he’s forced to make compression bullets. When the Swan detects some Seikijin on approach, they determine the situation to be three of Dagmyer’s Seikishi chasing one with Ceres Tyte in it. Kenshi gets into a Seikijin and goes to save Ceres, shooting Dagmyer’s three Seikijin, all filled with women. They flee but when Kenshi goes to help Ceres, he is snared in a trap. Aura takes a Seikijin to rescue him with Yukine and Chiaia on standby as a barrier reactor is on the back of Ceres’ Seikijin and rigged to explode.
Ceres tells Kenshi (the others overhear the conversation on radio) that Dagmyer’s people kidnapped Hazuki and forced him to do this. If he succeeded, they’d release Hazuki. Kenshi understands and orders Aura away. Kenshi taps into his rage and causes his Seikishi to partially go black. He compresses the barrier reactor and flings it. The explosion is felt at Dagmyer’s camp and they assume Kenshi is gone. However when Kenshi shows up with his berserker Seikijin, he makes mincemeat of Dagmyer’s forces. Aura, Chiaia, and Ceres rescue Hazuki from Lan while Kenshi kills Cliff and forces Emra to save Dagmyer from death at Kenshi’s deteriorating Seikijin’s hands.
Back on board the Swan, Ceres is told of the ship being an independent nation with representatives from Shurifon (Aura), Havoniwa (Yukine, Maria), Schutreiyu (most everyone else), and more (Leia is from the Church). As such, Kenshi grants Ceres and Hazuki assylum, leading Lashara to joke about making money from Ceres being a male Seikishi. No one laughs.
As Dagmyer cowers in fear in his room, the Swan heads to the Barrier Workshop where Naua, Chiaia’s father, awaits. He’s already heard the news about Mexiah and has information for them after sending Kenshi off to have some testing performed on him. Leia collapses and is taken away to rest while Naua tells Yukine, Maria, Lashara, Chiaia, and Aura of the Senshi Civilization and the creation of the Seikishin.
After the Seikishin went out of control and caused the destruction of the Senshi Civilization, one Seikishin named Gaia remained as it was the strongest. Three new dolls were created to defeat Gaia, one of whom was Mexiah. They defeated Gaia when one of the three were sacrificed in that cause. Mexiah was returned to infancy and sealed away and the indestructible shield of Gaia’s was buried in the land of Seichi. Thousands of years later when , which was under control of the country of Schutreiyu, a Seikishin was uncovered and experimented on. It went out of control and forced the Church to take control of Seichi and the new Seikijin project, whereupon all countries sent people to Seichi to become Seikishi.
Twenty-two years ago, the capsule containing the infant Mexiah came to the surface and Naua adopted the child as his own. When Chiaia was born, Mexiah simply became her older sister. However because not all of the records about the dolls were in the Church’s charge, Babalun apparently had some of the records and found a way to control Mexiah. Naua is interrupted with a medical report which appears to reveal that the second doll has been found. However, before he can continue, he’s interrupted when Doll’s forces attack, their target being the Swan.
Naua has a soldier escort Lashara, Maria, Aura, and Yukine to the Swan while he and Chiaia go another direction so that he can offer some last moment coaching and give Chiaia a means of destroying Gaia. They discover Leia has not only left the infirmary, but has knocked out all of the staff in a research room and is stealing an artifact. She gets away as the enemy Seikijin advance, protected by replicas of Gaia’s shield. Kenshi runs into Leia, who reveals she is in fact Neizai and escapes, covered by the black Seikijin, piloted by Doll. Doll grabs her foster father and has a chat with him while Chiaia and Kenshi flee to the Swan under Naua’s orders.
Despite heavy resistance, Kenshi and Chiaia make it. There, Kenshi gets into a Seikijin and allows the Swan to escape. The enemy forces are waiting on this and cause a massive section of land to fall down into the docking pit. Kenshi compresses the land mass into five “musket balls,” then uses the rail gun that Wahanly brought on board to take out the enemy Seikijin and their faux Gaia shields. Lashara orders the Swan to flee as the enemy also flees, not wanting to risk total destruction at Kenshi’s hands. Doll finishes her conversation with her father as she watches the Swan leave. Leia-Neizai also watches the Swan leave.
Wow. There was a lot of exposition in the second half, so much so that I had to watch that a couple of times. I’ll get to that in a bit.
First, the comedy levels for this episode were pretty low, which is fine. I think the only chuckle I had came from Kenshi being forced to make the compression “musket balls” (for lack of a better term since that’s what they look like) and build up the Swan’s ammo supply by recycling garbage and such. Life as king of your own tiny country isn’t all its cracked up to be. *lol*
The whole thing with Ceres screamed “TRAP” from the start. I did expect Ceres to come on board and attempt sabotage in order to allow Dagmyer’s forces to attack. I did not expect him to become a suicide bomber, so kudos to Kajishima-sensei there. I thought about this for a while and I came to the conclusion that even though he foolishly believed that he’d save Hazuki by doing this, he may have felt his life was over anyway and Hazuki was better off without him. I say this because I really believe the women Seikishi had (rape) sex with Ceres and that this wasn’t just idle chatter on their part.
Male Seikishi are rare and it seems apparent that a female Seikishi obtaining a child by a male Seikishi is a prize indeed. In the high circles of Lashara and Maria, a male Seikishi is just as much a prize, but there are things to be gained from that prize which is why Lashara was so keen on having Kenshi under her control. One could almost see Lashara renting out Kenshi’s “services” to female Seikishi if the price was right back when she first took him in. However, in the bandit circles, one takes the prize for themselves, the reward being the birth of another Seikishi child and if one is lucky, a male Seikishi.
So yeah, I think the bandit women got Ceres to sexually copulate with them (such is the power of beautiful women over the teenage male). When all was said and done, I suspect Ceres hate himself badly, feeling he’d betrayed his true love Hazuki, and so he took the opportunity to do what he hoped would set her free of the bandits, but at the same time end his own dishonor. It is foolish thinking, of course, but there you go.
Next up is Kenshi going berserk. When I rewatched episode 1 (Blu-ray), I noted Kenshi’s Seikijin roar and start to go black. Here, we get that again, only this time, his Seikijin gets a giant black hand? Weird, but it means something. Later on, we are left with the implication that maybe Kenshi is the second Doll. I don’t buy that for an instant. However, Kenshi may be a kind of yin-yang and sometimes lets darkness well up to aid him in his Seikijin fights.
I do think that Leia is the other “doll” that was made to fight the Seikishin several millennia ago. I base this on (1) her looking similar to the profile shown during Naua’s lecture and (2) having it seem to be Kenshi would be a classic Kajishima misdirect. I think that she was scanned when she was taken to the infirmary and that’s when they discovered the truth. Kenshi, for all practical purposes, is human though he’s obviously a special human (how could you be raised by Tenchi’s harem, which includes to Choushin, and not be special?).
I did like how Doll came back to talk with her foster father. At first, I wondered if her use of the term “otousama” was sarcastic, being that this is a highly respectful and formal way of addressing one’s father. However, when I watched the scenes again, I believe she has genuine affection for her foster father but also wanted some information, which I believe she obtained.
I didn’t like the disconnect between Kenshi’s going berserk in the Seikijin and then coming out and being “OK.” Not only that, but while his actions seemed to trouble his comrades, they were all “OK” when the fighting concluded. Maybe this will be addressed in the final two episodes, but for now, it was a bit unbelievable.
Finally, we have the lengthy exposition on the Senshi Civilization. Let me see if I’ve understood things.
- The planet was united under the Senshi and created large robot-mecha units for sporting competitions. Eventually, these mecha became known as Seikishin
- People found they could only take a Seikishin so far and for whatever reason, came up with the idea of bringing people from other worlds in to pilot the Seikishin, including the Dark Elf race. This “new blood” then took the Seikishin to the next level.
- The competitions became more bloody and artificial people were created to pilot the Seikishin. Crystals were made to retain the skills and experience of the Seikishin pilot so that upon death, the crystal was transferred to a new body.
- At some point, orders were given which were misunderstood and the Seikishin (and presumably their pilots) went out of control and destroyed the Senshi Civilization.
- One Seikishi that could function in the Ena Sea was Gaia, and it was unstoppable. Thus, three “dolls” were created to defeat it. In the process of doing so, one of the three lost their lives. Gaia’s shield was buried in what is known as the Seichi since it couldn’t be destroyed.
- One of the dolls was reverted back to infancy and sealed in a capsule (Mexiah).
- Thousands of years later, the people of Schutreiyu found Gaia’s shield and the Seikishin. Their experiments caused the Church to intervene, take control of the Seikijin project, and control the Seikijin/Seikishi so that there would not be a repeat of what happened to the Senshi Civilization.
- Babalun decided to reunite the world under his control with the power of the lone surviving Seikishin, Gaia’s shield, and the only known doll that could defeat a Seikishin.
- Kenshi is sent into this world and Babalun/Dagmyer figure they have an ace in the hole to take out Lashara since they know of the Senshi having brought people from other worlds to theirs.
- Kenshi fails to kill Lashara but joins her side and has been a thorn in Babalun’s and Dagmyer’s side ever since.
Still, that leaves some questions.
- Who sent Kenshi to this world?
- While there is no doubt that Kenshi is special, are his abilities solely his or are they aided by that pendant he carries?
- Is Kenshi somehow tied in with what happened thousands of years ago?
- Is Leia another doll? Who is she working for? Just the Church? What was the artifact she took?
- What is Doll’s next move? Does she have memories from the past?
So a good episode with a lot of information spewed at us. I can’t wait to see the final two episodes.
“After the Seikishin went out of control and caused the destruction of the Senshi Civilization, one Seikishin named Gaia remained as it was the strongest. Three new dolls were created to defeat Gaia, one of whom was Mexiah. They defeated Gaia when one of the three were sacrificed in that cause. Sorry, but that sounds like gibberish. Sadly your bullet point list didn’t really make it a whole lot clearer, and you say you watched that part of the episode more than once. Kajishima has a serious problem with his poorly presented infodumps, recall the one with female Kagato’s back-story for example.
Yeah, Kajishima-sensei isn’t the greatest with the info dumps. He believes strongly in the Law of Conservation of Detail. *_* So when he gives info, he tends to pour it out all at once with as little as he thinks will get people by. On the other hand, that has fueled the market for his doujinshi, novels, interviews, etc. where he gives additional information. *lol*
@Anonymous
“Sorry, but that sounds like gibberish. Sadly your bullet point list didn’t really make it a whole lot clearer, and you say you watched that part of the episode more than once.”
Excuse me, but by the way you worded things, I get the impression you didn’t watch the episode yourself and base your conclusion about the info being gibberish solely on the summary.
I did watch it and it wasn’t all that confusing.
1. Ancient civ invents seikishin, which at some point go berserk due to an inherent flaw in how the pilot core crystals are made.
2. A war ensues and almost all traces of the ancient civ gets eradicated and the population flees from the Sea of Ena to escape the reach of the rampaging Seikishin.
3. To battle the strongest remaining Seikishin, 3 artificial pilots are made, one of which is Mexiah.
4. After the Seikishin is defeated, but not destroyed, Mexiah’s memory gets reset and she’s sealed away underground, as was the artifact known as Gaia’s shield, since it proved to be indestructible.
5. People returned to the area known as Sea of Ena to resettle and since it was low on resources due to the war, an organization that would later become the church was supreme arbiter of the resources there. At that point, no one, but the church had any Seikishin tech anymore.
6. Years later, when all those things were already forgotten by the general populace, one nation unearthed the remains of the Seikishin and began experiments, which resulted in that explosion of an ancient barrier reactor mentioned earlier.
7. This made the church aware that knowledge about Seikishin and how they work was rediscovered. In order to prevent an arms race between nations, which would ultimately lead to another war, they took control of the land where the Seikishin was discovered (the holy land) and started handing out Seikishin tech in a controlled manner, so no one felt threatened and peace was ensured.
It was indeed a huge info dump, but it did make plenty of sense to me, both in content and in the way it way presented.
@Ouroboros — So I pretty much had it right then, assuming the translator had it right. I didn’t get that her memories had been sealed, well not in Doll form at least. What’s odd is that if she were able to switch back and forth between Doll and Mexiah before, why not now?
I suppose I should rewatch the entire series. Most Kajishima-sensei titles make a ton more sense on the second and third viewings.
Anonymous has a point, because if even AstroNerdBoy who is one of the biggest experts on Kajishima-sensei had to rewatch the info dump several times before getting it straightened out, something isn’t right. Makes me feel better because I had to go back 4-5 times myself and I’m still not sure I didn’t miss something important.
I think with a full length series like this he should’ve done the back story as a proper flashback episode instead of a tell-all with a few still images. I don’t mind rewatching scenes that are interesting or get me curious about how something works or ties into something else, but I hate having to keep rewinding because there’s literally too much raw data to take it all in in one pass. This is an anime for entertainment, not a lecture where you have to take notes and stuff. There have been plenty of hijinks in this series that could’ve been condensed to make room to get this done right.
I have already watched the ending. I won’t say more but I do look forward to what you have to say about the last two episodes.
There are several hing that struck me in this episode,
1) Notes that while Kenshi is compressing steel into the compressed rounds, but the other can’t. (Watch out Cat girls) Now compressing solid material is almost impossible, therefore for Kenshi to do so requires much more ability than any normal 3D citizen.
Is this the same talent Tenchi use to manufacture his LHW sword?
Second, I am not sure that the story we are told is complete. If the Gem are survival units, could it be that the gem of the special unit was destroyed gem survived, and it was place into a new body, which was Mexiah. This would explain why Mexiah memory was erased and her body be an infant’s. That would also mean all three of the special units survived.
Third. Where did they get the technology to build those Geia shields?
@Brad — I agree with you in general. Unfortunately, Kajishima-sensei loves the slice-of-life comedy tales more than the meat and potatoes stuff.
@Anon — I do plan to blog the final two episodes. ^_^
@Shadow — I’m trying to remember if this kind of ability has been done in other Kajishima titles. I know that Seina had something similar with the Idol, which he used to crush space cruisers into giant crumple balls, but not into “musket balls.” So it may be that Kenshi has some special ability or it is a combination of special abilities and that pendant.
That would also mean all three of the special units survived.
Are you going where I think you are going? Kajishima-sensei made a big deal of pointing out the pendant and crystal. So could that crystal actually be from #3, transferred to Kenshi, at which point he has access to those incredible Seikishi skills?
Third. Where did they get the technology to build those Geia shields?
Well, that’s the million dollar question. The Senshi may have developed it themselves.
What I am thinking of was K-sensei other survival device, the “specail seed” of the Juraian royal tree make when it about to be destroyed, like Ryo-uh used after Kagato’s attack (watch Tenchi Ryo-okhi eps. 6 for details). They regrows the royal tree as new seedling when planted in the correct environment. While it is a rebirth of that tree, it is still only a seedling not an full grown royal tree.
Mexiah was found in that same state, an infant of the special type doll. Therefore would it not be logical to suspose that she might be from the ‘destroyed’ special doll and not from the other survivor.
If it is true that the Mexiah is descended form the ‘destroyed’ doll, then this would mean two more special dolls need to be account for, not just one.
I’ve only seen it subbed once, but I think I picked up on everything in the info-dump.
*shrug*
Various odds and ends…
I think it might be useful to relabel the doll that Chiaia’s father thinks he’s found. You refer to it as the “second” doll, but the episode uses “second” to refer to the one that was destroyed. My understanding is that the scan is believed to have uncovered the third doll, of which we know nothing other than the fact that it was created. It’s not mentioned at all after its creation, and there are no clues to its ultimate fate. So to sum up, Mexiah was the first doll and had her memory erased before being sealed away in the capsule. The second doll was destroyed while fighting Gaia alongside Doll. And it’s unknown what happened to the third doll after its creation – including whether or not it ever fought Gaia.
I know that Hakubi fansubbed the name as ‘Leia’, but isn’t the name of Kenshi’s mother ordinarily Romanized as ‘Rea’ or ‘Reia’? A minor plot point in the previous episode is that the two women share the same name. Bad Fansubber! No cookie for you!
😛
The spheres that Kenshi creates are presumeably created through some form of gravity manipulation. It’s something that Kajishima seems to enjoy playing with. While I don’t remember it appearing in GXP, I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned up there. Zinv pulled similar tricks in Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure. And it also used energy generated from his palms to do it. And then there’s the scene in which Tenchi reverses the Doc’s black hole in the second OVA series.
The girls guess that the shields are manufactured by Babaron using a similar structure but different components. So they use a similar method of distributing force and make impacts against them much less powerful. But since they’re not made of the same material as Gaia they still can’t take the same amount of punishment. And when Kenshi hits each of them with an object containing one-fifth (he creates five “bullets”) of the mass of the cliff that was dropped on the Swan… Gaia itself, on the other hand, wouldn’t have been affected by the mass accelerator rounds. And I won’t say anything further than that on this topic…
/innocent whistle
Anyone seen a crystal on Doll? Just curious… I don’t remember seeing one on Mexiah.
The scene with Doll and her father was hilarious. I also wondered if she *intentionally* used the conversation as an excuse not to go after the Swan – i.e. chatted with her father at least until she was certain that the Swan had made its escape.
The death in this episode is, I think, the first time that it’s made fairly clear that the pilot in question probably died. Usually there’s the implication that the “egg” around the cockpit protects the pilot. And we’ve seen pilots reappear after their machines took some brutal beatings. But this time…
I think it might be useful to relabel the doll that Chiaia’s father thinks he’s found.
You might be right. The order of creation might be important.
I know that Hakubi fansubbed the name as ‘Leia’, but isn’t the name of Kenshi’s mother ordinarily Romanized as ‘Rea’ or ‘Reia’?
Blame the official ISM website. ^_^; They have it spelled “Leia.” I looked that up when I saw the name change in the text. Habuki is using all the names as spelled out in English on the ISM site. I don’t think “Leia” was up on the character page when H released episode 10.
Either way, it would still make Leia’s name sound like Reia based on the Japanese phonetics.

I no longer have Dual! so I wondered if this concept had come up there. I need to try to get that again sometime.
Anyone seen a crystal on Doll? Just curious… I don’t remember seeing one on Mexiah.
No, but that doesn’t mean anything as it could be inside the body OR she could be a crystal like Ryo-ohki.

Yeah, that stood out to me which is why I made mention of it. You get the brutality in how Kenshi’s Seikijin goes after enemy Seikijin, but the pilots, as you say, are OK. Going off a cliff — not so much (unless the “egg” protects him in the fall).

*sigh*
Good old Japanese… I know that they’re pronounced the same in Japanese, but given that Kenshi explicitly identifies it as the same name within the series an effort should probably be made to keep it consistent with the Romanization of his mother’s name. The Japanese routinely screw this sort of thing up. One of my favorite examples of this is the original (and classic – not the lame excuse for a show that came later) Bubblegum Crisis, in which Brian Mason’s last name is spelled differently (in English) every single time it’s shown on-screen.
Not Kajishima’s fault, though. It’s the fault of whomever is Romanizing the name for the website (and given that it’s a Japanese website, I have to wonder why…?).
I need to try to get that again sometime.
Yes, you do.
😛
No, but that doesn’t mean anything as it could be inside the body OR she could be a crystal like Ryo-ohki.
She’s not like Ryo-Ohki. Haua states pretty clearly that she’s almost exactly the same as a human – to the point where inter-breeding is possible (though admittedly, given what we’ve seen so far in the Tenchi-verse that doesn’t necessarily mean as much as it would in the real world…). Also, we’re shown examples of the crystals a few minutes prior and they’re fist-sized gemstones in that instance. Doesn’t mean that they can’t be different sizes, but I think it’s pretty clearly indicated that we’re not dealing with something like Ryo-Ohki here.
(unless the “egg” protects him in the fall)
He’s never seen again. So I think it’s safe to say he died in that scene. He’s also apparently the guy who came up with the plan involving Ceres, so the audience isn’t likely to shed too many tears over him…
Curiously, bandit girl’s mother never turns up after she tries to drop big rocks on the Swan, so there’s a bit of a question mark regarding her fate as well.
So far you guys know of two of the dolls, but the third one is uncomfirmed. I am inclined to say that the third one is the one in Dual! Even though I’m not watching ISM or Dual! but am meaning to.
D in ‘Dual!’ definitely is not one of the dolls in this series. I’d say more, but it would spoil part of the series – and you haven’t seen it yet.
😛
1. The summation was fine. It was an accurate description of the info-dump. Perhaps since I’ve seen every single one of these that Kajishima-sensei has done, I didn’t have too many problems with the info-dump. I also find that the info-dumps work better after you’ve seent he whole series, a point we’re not at yet.
2. Musket balls. IIRC, this is something all Seikishi can do. Someone was about to show Kenshi how to do it, but before the lesson had started, Kenshi did it. My impression was that kenshi can do this mush, MUCH faster than other Seikishi can, and as this episode shows, of larger, denser objects.
3. Dolls. I totally missed the resemblence between Reia/Leia and one of the other dolls. However, the test results might have them believing Kenshi is the other doll, or that his crystal from his sister’s ship is related to the other doll. So, we might indeed have all 3 dolls present in some way.
Beagle-san! Good to hear from you, sir. ^_^
I also find that the info-dumps work better after you’ve seent he whole series, a point we’re not at yet.
That’s true. I think all of Kajishima-sensei’s titles make a great deal more sense on the rewatch because the second time through, we can see the forshadowing and other things that were laid out which didn’t seem like much initially.
As to the musket balls, I need to rewatch the series and I’m sure that would have been noticed by me.
Anyway, glad to see you are watching the series. ^_^ I wasn’t sure if you’d completely dropped out of anime watching or not.
Hiya, ANB! Yep, still watching, and rewatching, anime. ^_^
I found the episode and reference. It’s episode 9, about 8:45 into the episode, right after the Church gang leaves the Swan. “Compressed bullets?” Kenshi asks, clearly in response to something Wahanly said. She says it’s something he’ll need as a Seikishi, and then volunteers to teach him. After he “suits-up” she tells him to grab anything with his had, then surround it with Ena using Ahou, which he does. She’s stunned that he does it instantly. “In an instant?! Amazing…” Right after this is when Chiaia has her moment of temptation, asked to kill Kenshi by Dagmeyer.
One of the things I left out while figuring how to get the comment feature to work for me ^_^;; was how this series doesn’t feel as “cramped” as TM!RO OVA 3 did. The extra 270+ minutes, even more with the DVD versions, really makes a world of difference, essentially making this roughly the same length as a 24 (if he gets an extra 6 minutes, on each DVD version, this would amount to more than 26 episodes) episode TV series that’s 25 minutes per episode.
Kajishima has always had a problem of pouring too much story into too little time. The longer he has to play with, I find that the better his storys work out: GXP and now InSM, for instance.
I’m sure that when this is done, I’ll still feel that he needs more episodes, but that’s the nature of K-sensei. But, damn, imagine what a mess this would be if he was trying to tell this story in the same length of time as OVA 3?
It’s no accident it’s the same length, it was actually meant to be a regular 26 part tv series instead of a 13 part ova. If you pay attention, you can easily divide each long episode into roughly equal halves with their own distinct stories because they were produced as separate episodes. For reasons unknown they couldn’t get the series to air and it got the ova and ppv treatment. Kajishima said in a doujinshi that this turn of events took him by surprise but hardly anything changed for the production work.
Kajishima has always had a problem of pouring too much story into too little time. The longer he has to play with, I find that the better his storys work out: GXP and now InSM, for instance.
Actually, it goes beyond pouring too much story in IMO. It is that Kajishima-sensei loves the texture and tapestry “day in the life” stories more than the main plot. I can understand why because he makes those fun, humor-filled events for the most part. However, with OVA 3, he did some of this as well, which he didn’t really have time for with only six episodes.
With the longer format, you are right in that it works better for him. He can tell all these “day in the life” stories and still have plenty of time for plot advancement.
I’m sure that when this is done, I’ll still feel that he needs more episodes, but that’s the nature of K-sensei. But, damn, imagine what a mess this would be if he was trying to tell this story in the same length of time as OVA 3?
I agree — OVA 3 would have been better with more episodes. Maybe then he would have included the girls fighting Galaxy Army.
Which reminds me, I need to get some time next week to work on my OVA 3 stuff.
Kajishima said in a doujinshi that this turn of events took him by surprise but hardly anything changed for the production work.
Which doujinshi? I’d like it for citation purposes ’cause this would be good information to add to the FAQ (which again, I need to take time to do).
In one of the recent Isekai themed ones from his Kajishima Onsen circle.

Poor Ayeka.net, wonder how long they’ll last.
I…. Have a wierd theory…
0.o Has anyone noticed that the Shenshi (Sorry I mispelled) looks alot like Earth’s continents? Which led me to think…
Perhaps this is all in the future?
Kenshi was somehow sent forward in time?
The crystal-ryo-ohkis in (I forget which episode) gone wry and evolved into Koro.
A few thousand years of human history would explain the technology.
Human’s nature would explain the bloodshed.
Humans discover Tenchi and the others. Somone eventually building the Holy Land to represent one of the goddesses.
Dual Parallel was another few million years after this? Hence somone finding an artifact and creating mechs?
The store-memories-into-crystal tech was used and improved on there. Forming D’s soul.
And Jurai….. Completely ignored Earth.
It all links! lol
(I highly doubt this is true but still, it’s fun to toy with the idea. XD I make wierd links…)
Anyway, thanks for the summery! Cleared alot of my unanswered questions… =p
I don’t think that attempting to directly link Dual! and this series is going to get you too far…
Dual! is first and foremost a story about parallel worlds. Bringing time into it just mucks things up unecessarily. And your comments regarding D suggest that you haven’t watched the last episode (not counting the bonus episode) – or if you have, then you need to watch it again.
😛
Also, the technology in Dual! is clearly demonstrated to be alien in origin – and not just because the mad scientists believed it to be so.
Yes, I know but it’s fun! (I really do it with every anime show I watch..)
(I link together everything I watch, =p From Robotech to Tenchi Muyo to Claymore… Don’t ask how, I just do!)
D.P. Parallel Universe, I.N.S. Alternative Universe. Yes, yes I know… D returns to her body in the end… The world didn’t return to original, instead it combined.
(I have not watched the last episode of Isekai no Seikishi, is that what you mean?)
(I can’t understand Japanese… T.T If I did, I’d be watching ep 13 by now… and I’d also be tling double-time… Oh dear god, I do not want that to happen.)
(Yes, I know it’s alien! [I want and don’t want to guess Jurai at the same time] Jeez, can’t you take something for fun?!)
(It’s still possible to link the two… Zinv to Light Hawk Wings to Tenchi to Kenshi XP)
Zinv is linked through GXP. The mecha that appears in the latter series is very similar to Zinv, and we’re told is powered by one of two seeds that Tsunami gave to some travellers in the distant past. Two seeds, and two similar mecha that can generate LHWs… Hmmm…
😛
So in short Dual! is already linked.
And I was refering to the final episode of Dual. I’ve been very careful to avoid refering to anything from the episodes of this series that haven’t been fansubbed yet.
Idol… That was Idol… Zinv was never given a seed. (At least, from what we know)
(It being linked doesn’t mean it’s off limits anymore. =p)
And Zinv can generate 2 (I think, correct me if I’m wrong.) LightHawk wings while Idol can generate 10 in full form…
Referance: the True Tenchi Novels
I don’t remember hearing that the Shin Tenchi Muyo novels say anything about Zinv or the idol, especially since GXP wasn’t done then.
As far as LHW’s go, 1st generation trees generate three blades. Only Tsunami can generate ten.
Well, so can Ryoko with all three gems.
If you go to http://www.gogoanime.com/
you can watch the two last episodes of the serie.
But they’re on japanese 🙁
True, but the three gems are actually Washu. Only the Choushin can generate 10 LHW’s. Tenchi supposedly has no restrictions. The Idol in GXP generated only three LHW’s, however they were elaborately done.
Idol… That was Idol… Zinv was never given a seed. (At least, from what we know)

We really don’t know. No one knows about seeds in Dual!, so they’re not looking for them in that series. And you’d need to look there for confirmation. But based on the following –
– Both mecha strongly resemble each other
– Tsunami states that she gave two seeds to the same group, which means that one is unaccounted for
– Both mecha can generate Light Hawk Wings
– Kajishima was responsible for both series
… I think that there’s a pretty strong argument to be made that the intention was for the viewer to infer that Zinv contained a seed from Tsunami.
And given that Kazuki is supposed to be his reality’s counterpart to Zinv, there are all sorts of hypotheticals that this raises if you want to run long enough with it…
We’re given hints, not facts. Even if all our evidence points at the seed was given to Zinv, we can’t know for sure. Kajishima-sensei hasn’t told us the entire story yet so… Let’s be patience. ^-^
Yell at me all you want if he says that the seed was given to Zinv.
(To A.N.B. well, Kenshi told me and he said he knows you soo… Ask him, he told me about it. And he knows Jpn so I trust him ^-^)
(Wasurenai-Kenshi, maybe he goes under a different name here.. ????)
Granted I’m pretty tired at the moment, but the name “Wasurenai-Kenshi” isn’t ringing any bells. If this someone fluent in Japanese, I’d like to speak with them. ^_^

Aren’t you the one that attempted to link this series to Dual! via the passage of millenia of time?
Or at the very least defended it, despite the fact that there’s no real evidence?
And now you’re urging caution on reading too much into some very basic blatant hints that Kajishima put in another series?
o.O
You said that you wanted to link the two series. To wit –
—————————–
(I link together everything I watch, =p From Robotech to Tenchi Muyo to Claymore… Don’t ask how, I just do!)
—————————–
Kajishima supplied simple, straightforward, blatant evidence for a link. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth!
For lack of a better place, I’m going to tag this on to the first loosely Tenchi related post here. Long story short, I just saw http://www.noneedfortenchi.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=4474 and couldn’t believe my eyes at the gullibility of some people. ANB, you have my utmost respect for not reacting to that preposterous fairy tale with the kind of fire and brimstone it must have evoked in you. I can’t believe what a lowlife Rolf has become to stoop to this level. Apparently I had no idea about the level of hogwash you’ve had to put up with over the years.
Okay ^-^ I was wrong for trying to link the two together. (Well, never should have shared my hobby in the first place.)
and I was wrong for defending it. (I wasn’t really trying to, it just seemed fun)And was wrong for not accepting the evidence. (I just don’t want to be dissappointed if it turned out to be something else.)
I’m sorry.

(Nononono, I meant… He is named Kenshi, from Wasurenai. Look up Wasurenai, the fansubbing group. Come to the IRC and find him there. And don’t be discouraged when he says no.. because.. he randomly says no like on every channel there is… And if he doesn’t say no, then you’re in luck. ^-^
Yo ANB, what’s up with AFC? I’ve been getting database errors when trying to access it for the last few days.
Invision Plus has been having all sorts of problems of late. Our board is on their A-list of boards to be fixed but there are others on that list too.
This could just be me, but I noticed one thing –
When Wahanly is bringing the crates on board the Swan, she said it was “Kenshi’s new power” but when Kenshi asks for the railgun, he asks Yukine specifically for her railgun.
Then post-railgun mayhem, he tells Wahanly, “this new model is very powerful.” So is the new power the railgun or does he have a tuned up Seikijin? To me it’s unclear.
Yukine could have already been using Wah’s new railgun.
